Dr. Elaine grew up in the charming region of southwest Indiana and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana State University with a prestigious degree in Chemistry. She went on to earn her MD from the esteemed Indiana University Medical School. Following her academic achievements, she completed her residency at the renowned Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and is proud to maintain her Board Certification in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Habig has accumulated over 30 years of invaluable experience as an Internist in private practice, seamlessly navigating both hospital and outpatient settings. She is the innovative mind behind a pioneering disease management software system designed to assist physicians, which has proven its effectiveness and remains in use today. Dr. Habig passionately enjoys all aspects of adult care, engaging in everything from the very simple to the exceptionally complex.

Her areas of interest encompass diabetes, cardiology, chronic disease management, and preventive care. She is well-known for her remarkable ability to “put the pieces together” and to solve complex problems with a holistic and thoughtful approach. Patients appreciate her talent for making everything simple, accessible, and easy to understand.

In her personal life, Dr. Habig has been happily married for 37 years and is the proud mother of three wonderful children. She skillfully balances the demands of her work and family life, fully understanding the challenges that others face in this pursuit. In her free time, she delights in playing the piano, singing in her church choir, nurturing and caring for both plants and cats, as well as embarking on exciting travel adventures.
